Trauma Resolution Therapy

Wounded Along the Way.
Healed Along the Way.

Sometimes the journey wounds us. We might suffer a car accident, an act of war, an unfortunate surgery, sexual abuse, childhood neglect, educational trauma, workplace harassment, or other acts of violence. Current research shows that even relational events such as divorce, infidelity, substance use, or poor parenting can alter the nervous system and the immune system. Body and soul may ultimately experience pervasive traumatic distress.

Yet trauma does not have to be experienced forever. We are resilient, adaptable creatures. We’re imbued with natural healing ability. Neuroscience has discovered that the brain is as regenerative as the body. Sometimes we just aren’t able to tap into our own best resources alone, and we need some help to do that.

We’ve noticed that our greatest strength (and greatest possibility) seems to be routinely paired with our greatest limitation — even our greatest wound. They are born together, like twins. This means that many of us must discover our gift in the very heart of our suffering, our difficulty, our struggle. The Eastern contemplative traditions have a poetic way of saying this: Our gift is like the lotus that is born out of the mud. Stephen Cope

Resolving trauma is specialized work that requires a thorough understanding of epigenetics, neuroscience, human development, and other physiological systems. Trauma cannot be resolved by simply talking about it. Body and mind must work together.

If you are living with trauma, we will work to restore your body’s natural regulation. Your nervous system will rewire itself, if given the opportunity. Your soul and spirit deserve once again to experience the joy of being alive. Unfortunately, trauma was one stop on the road. It is not the destination. The road to wholeness is paved with love and compassion. The road leads you to healing. Many paths and trails lead through trauma without our will or fancy. And yet, you may choose the trail to transcendence. I would be honored to be your fellow traveler. Let’s begin.

We all carry within us our places of exile; our crimes, our ravages. Our task is not to unleash them on the world; it is to transform them in ourselves and others. - Albert Camus
