My Approaches

Our Partnership in Therapy

If you are an individual, we meet face to face in a quiet, comfortable, confidential setting. I invite you to share what is on your mind and in your heart and body. I don’t ask you to fill out pages of forms. I don’t ask you to speak outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes we observe without speaking. Together, we find the path that leads to your wholeness and health.

If you are a couple, child, or family, I create a safe, nurturing place where all involved can feel heard, understood. Sometimes this is at my office and sometimes at your home or another venue.

Multiple types of therapy are used:

In the past ten to twenty years, the exciting advances in neuroscience have expanded the techniques available to therapists. Research has shown that a blend of these can be very effective. I have chosen to take advantage of integrated approaches that rely on research about the mind and body connections. I offer processing through dialogue, when that makes the most sense for the person and the issue. I offer touch when the nervous system and physiology require specialized integrative work. Other imaginative interventions such as play, art, music, dream work, or nature encounters are available also when needed. A blend of these techniques is often effective to address dysfunctions and bring about healing and regulation in the nervous system and spirit or soul.

You do not need to choose a particular modality, as I am trained in selecting the best approach for each person; however, you are always welcome to request a particular approach if you are curious or already familiar with one that you like.
